Everyone flipped last month when they saw the master bath Steven Gambrel created using Silver Travertine featured in Elle Decor.

I have been a long time fan of Silver Travertine, because it blankets the floor of the lobby of my building! I was even going to use it to cover the window sills/built-ins in my living and dining. (Until I found out how much it costs and realized that I can never take that with me when I sell.) At least I get to see it every day even if it’s not in my own apartment! The famous bathroom by Gambrel.

Silver Travertine and Calcutta Gold marble are my two favorite stones. Whats yours?

I have been in love with this confetti printed KWID fabric forever. LOVE. I know My Favorite and My Best loves it too…. So I had Melanie of Plum Cushion make a custom table skirt for a parsons table that I salvaged from my mother in laws basement. LOVE is not a strong enough word to describe my feelings for this fabric. I didn’t post a whole picture because I have yet to add the super cool trim I found at M&J to the bottom. So just a sneak peak for now. YAY. (Btw that mini little doggie was $5 in Home Goods… Just sayin’!)

One of the best things about blogging is meeting cool people from around the world. Well, I cant actually call it meeting cause we have never met!! Becca is off in Vegas hunting for the next best things, so we decided I should fill in for her for a day. Check out my post.

In other news… there have been many fabulous updates at Casa Cohen (Cant believe I just wrote that SO CHEESY). Just a sneak peak… The windows that I have labored over for months… are finally finished. Thanks to Nick Olsen who figured out what to with all the crazy beams all over the place!!! I think they look really fabulous and I would like to stop and take a minute here to talk about wooden blinds. I have never had any or used any before. THEY ROCK! The most convenient possible thing to have on your windows. Too bright in here? turn the little stick! Too dark? Turn it again! Want to sleep in? Turn them with the edges facing up and they are as good as black outs. You never have to raise or lower them. Am I the only person in America who didn’t know about this? Romans are a MEGA pain in the ass compared to these! I actually think they look good too…

So go vote. Twice! Here is why:

1. His room was by far the best.

2. Because his idea of a modern woman lives in a space like this. 3.Because of those hot pink candles on the coffee table.

4. Because he used $2 dollar accessories found at the flea market.Im talking to you little bamboo tray. 5. Because of that heap of magazines on the floor is styled to match the color scheme and yet looks totally real and natural.
